What It Means To Be “Alpha”…

Why do groupies flock irrationally to celebrities and rock stars?

Why do people become “famous”?

Why do some women find certain men completely irresistible even if he’s dead broke and usually a jerk?

Why can you throw 10 complete strangers in a group together, and within minutes or hours, a leader will emerge that the others will follow?

Why does everyone want to work with the top earners in your company?

Why can those individuals join any opportunity in the world and have a sizable organization within weeks or months with little or no effort compared to the average Joe who’s busting his tail for dismal results?

And most of all, how do you tap into this phenomenon and become pursued yourself?

These are questions I asked myself for years, before I discovered the answer that I’m going to share with you right now…

And even though you’ll have the answer within your grasp within the next few minutes, you’ll still have to go through the process of actually becoming “Alpha”, if you want to enjoy the rewards, which is why we produced the new “Alpha Networker” program you’ll learn more about tomorrow.

Now the answers to the questions above lye in basic human psychology, so that’s where we need to start.

What I’m about to share with you is at the core of human-to-human attraction, and I’m actually pulling this from the pages of “Magnetic Sponsoring” for you today, because I don’t think I could say it better a second time round…

So know this: Attraction is not a choice.

It’s a biological/instinctual trigger that evolved millions of years ago to help keep you alive, which is usually why it’s never consciously understood or perceived by people until they actually start to study it.

Here’s a very basic version of a complex, PHD level subject…

By nature, people thrive and live in social groups. They follow a leader until they gain enough experience and confidence to challenge for leadership themselves or start their own group.

This is a survival instinct that has been engrained in us.

People cannot survive on their own, so we’ve formed trusting groups and families.

The leader (usually referred to as the Alpha), was typically the strongest and most dominate individual in the group or family both physically and mentally. One of his primary responsibilities was to protect his group, and in return for that protection, they would follow him.

Everyone lived longer and were therefore able to reproduce, passing down these survival traits in the process to the next generation.

That instinct is still present and definitely used today, but the inherent value of a leader is now expressed through different abilities such as business savvy, sociability, monetary means, and education, instead of physical prowess.

Essentially, we are hard-wired to find other people attractive or un-attractive based on the level of value they have to offer because we gain a portion of their power through the association alone.

Think of a celebrity and his or her entourage.

The people in their group gain social status through their association with him, making them more attractive to others. They become “cooler” and more attractive to other people outside the group who want in.

There are two important lessons here:

1: People have a subconscious attraction to others who convey leadership qualities and have a high level of personal value.

2: If you want to make it big in networking, (or anything in life), you must learn to convey those qualities, and eventually become a leader with value to offer others.

If your prospect or new distributor doesn’t have these qualities, they will struggle as well until they develop them. It’s likely that this process will continue for years until they finally gain the right qualities by accident, or until someone nice happens to share this book with them.

Now when it comes to Network Marketing and sponsoring specifically, there’s one epiphany that you need to have right now if you haven’t had it yet…

People do not join a business, they join YOU.

You see, there are basically three categories of people in life… Alphas, Pre-Alphas, and Betas.

You can also think of these as established leaders, up-and-coming leaders, and followers respectively. Each category offers exclusive benefits and abilities, or lack-there-of, to the individuals within them.

So which category of our three categories are you in right now?

Well here’s a really simple test that may not be scientific, but very effective none-the-less…

Next time you’re out in public and you make eye contact with an attractive person of the opposite sex, take notice of when you break eye contact with them.

Did you look down and away first or did they?

If you looked away first, you likely have a Beta or Pre-Alpha state of mind. If you held the gaze until they looked away, you’re probably Alpha.

Then, ask yourself if you’re worried about what that person thought of you. Did you wonder what they were thinking? Were you concerned with being judged? If so, then you’re in a Beta or Pre-Alpha mindset. .

Well here’s the interesting part…

The group you’re in is determined not by money, experience, the job you have, anything, or anyone else for that matter…

It’s determined by your STATE OF MIND, which is not given or bestowed upon you by others. Rather, your group reflects your personal beliefs about yourself.

You, and only you decide which category you are in.

Society will either agree with you and comply, or will chastise you for being a “poser” depending upon whether or not your actions are in congruence with your beliefs.

This is called your “frame”, or state-of-mind.

You cannot fake belief. You cannot pretend or act. You truly believe you are, or you are not.

You will likely feel like a poser when you start to adopt and accept a new belief system about yourself. You will likely get “caught” by an Alpha who can sense that you’re not being genuine yet, but that’s the key word… “Yet”.

That’s what people talk about when they mention “fake it until you make it.” Well faking it does not mean lying.

It simply means that you’re going to struggle a bit as you go through the process of moving from a follower, to an up-and-coming leader, to a recognized leader.

Your friends, family members, and co-workers will challenge you. That’s why there’s always animosity and resentment in an office environment when someone gets promoted from a “worker”, to a management/leadership position.

Challenging your current views about yourself and acting like a different person is a scary, yet wonderfully rewarding activity. Increasing your value to others, and taking the initiative to move yourself from one group to another is what personal development is all about.

EVERY leader has been there, and you need to know this…

Belief always comes before results.

Belief leads to certain actions and behaviors. Those actions and behaviors are going to be awkward in the beginning, but given dedication, time, and affirmation, those actions and behaviors will turn you into the type of person you need to be, in order to generate the results you seek.

Your goal in the network marketing industry is to become what I call an “Alpha Networker™”.

An example of an Alpha would be a successful upline leader living in a mind-state of abundance, and who is pursued and followed by others.

An example of a Pre-Alpha would be someone who’s recently started to push their comfort zone when it comes to expressing leadership. This is where the struggle is found before the big reward.

The third group consists of Betas. They typically have very little confidence or value to offer others, so they simply flock to those who do have it in hopes that it will rub off.

They are essentially, “unsure” of themselves, or still uncomfortable with the idea of being a leader. They typically live life in a state of “reaction”, where life events and other people dictate their rules and reality. It’s usually someone else’s fault.

The primary difference between Pre-Alphas and Betas is that Pre-Alphas have the vision, courage, and willingness to lead themselves through adversity and challenge.

If you cannot first lead yourself through struggles, how can you expect others to eventually follow you?

With that said, there are two important pieces of information to note:

One cannot exist without the other, and everyone must follow before they can lead.

It took me six years to move from a Beta, to Pre-Alpha, to Alpha because I didn’t know any better. I was just floating through live suffering endless inner frustration, because I didn’t know how to move up the chain.

But my lessons learned are your gain.

The bottom line is that you want to be an “Alpha” in all aspects of life, but especially when it comes to business.

Alphas are the people whom others want to be. They are leaders. They are sought-after and pursued. They are attractive to others, and success comes easily.

Here are common personality traits shared by Alphas…

Quite a few people have found out that I work this way, as do Dan Kennedy, Perry Marshall, and Yanik Silver.

(Have you ever seen how Donald Trump answers an ignorant or disrespectful question? He doesn’t. Period. He either ignores it, or provides an answer to the question he feels he should have been asked in the first place).

The upline leader with a team of 10,000 is an Alpha.

The guy you know who gets the hottest girls is an Alpha.

The woman you admire on stage, dressed in class, dignity, and style is an Alpha. The guy in the Ferrari sitting at the light with you is an Alpha.

The pastor at your church is an Alpha. The woman who throws the party everyone wants to be at is an Alpha.

And in the particular case of network marketing, an Alpha is the person who sponsors people effortlessly.

The difference between Alphas and Betas in lifestyle, income, social circles, opportunity, respect, and admiration is enormous.

Alphas get the guy or girl, the car, the respect, the money, and have more opportunities in life to impact more people in a positive manner, whether it’s through public service, creating a charitable foundation, instructing, mentorship, etc.

When you’re an Alpha Networker™, you offer value, and because of that, prospects automatically pursue an association with you.

This is the foundational concept of attraction marketing.

The Alpha Networker™ doesn’t need to make follow up calls, or court prospects.

They don’t need to answer questions about their income, or convince anyone of anything.

Their business thrives in a constant state of abundance where many times, they will need to actually limit the new number of distributors they sponsor, or hand them down to one of their group leaders because they simply don’t have the time to work with so many people themselves.

Would you like to be in that position?

Of course you would.

Actually…

You don’t have a choice.

Successful entrepreneurs, by definition, are Alpha. By definition, Beta entrepreneurs (and I mean “real” entrepreneurs), cannot exist.

So take some time to think about this information, and how it relates to where you’re at in your current state of personal development.

This business is 90% mental and 10% execution, because when you’re Alpha, (a state of mind), everything else naturally and automatically flows TO YOU, and any past struggles and road-blocks fade away.

All of this naturally leads us to the question, “How do you become an Alpha Networker?”

The best thing to do is find people in your life who are Alpha and start emulating them.

Once you become an Alpha Networker, here are a few common qualities that you’ll share with others…

As an Alpha Networker, you take control of the situation before it happens, or simply ignore it.

After all of this is said and done, generating attraction is about ONE THING: Increasing your value to others and to the world.

Alphas are valuable people.

The more valuable you become to others, the more they will seek you out.

The more valuable you become to others, the more Alpha you will be.

The “Alpha Networker” has been designed to help you make that transition, from Beta, to Pre-Alpha, to Alpha…

It’s the most rewarding journey you will ever take, and I’ll tell you more about it tomorrow…

Excellent post. Your friends, family members & co-workers will
indeed challenge you…. because people feel threatened by
change… you can’t look outside for approval. Set your course, and
follow it.. if your internal belief is strong enough, people will follow you.

Belief first – reality (and your environment) will conform.

Perfect timing. I killed off my inner Beta yesterday (thanks for the email, by the way) and am putting its eulogy tomorrow on my blog. Maybe I’ll flush it, too — I haven’t decided, but in-home cremation of an inner Beta sounds dangerous.

So I’m without an alphabetical category at the moment. I’ll look forward to finding out more tomorrow.

Having been a long-time fan of Mike’s, I’m thrilled that he’s shared my second-favorite part of Magnetic Sponsoring with everyone. Over the past 2 years, I’ve changed my posture from a Beta to a pre-alpha, and actually started using the “look the opposite sex in the eye” trick just a few months ago, with perceived changes to my own self-esteem and others’ perception of me happening within just a couple of weeks!

Reading this just makes me want to go pull out my ol’ spiral copy of Magnetic Sponsoring and re-read the whole thing.

Thanks Mike!

PS Favorite part is the MacDonalds bit (for the fellow book owners out there; and if you don’t have your own copy, you’ll just have to keep wondering what the heck I mean until you rememdy the situation yourself)

I so love this Michael.

Years ago I started to notice that SOME PEOPLE
were having ALL the fun and making ALL the money.

I decided I wanted to study THAT TYPE–

THE ALPHA

So that I could enjoy the lifestyle that they did.

Today I spend my days teaching the EXACT characteristics of an Alpha and illustrating how most networkers reveal themselves as non ALPHAS and cause GAME OVER often before they even begin.

Excited to see what you have up your sleeve!

And interested to see if participants in the industry
will understand how VALUABLE what you are showing them is and stop worrying about “what to do” and begin working on “who to BE”

Everything people DREAM of sits in the BEING.

And if one can BE and sustain it BEFORE the bounty arrives…

If they can just hold their stance long enough and hard enough…

The gates to the palace open and ALL THE ALPHA ROYALTY
gathers round you to shake your hand and WELCOME you
to the CLUB that FEW dare to enter.

Looking forward to reading your work.

But when I killed that Inner Beta! Man, everything started to change…almost instantly! The very next day as I started putting myself in the “right” mindset, everything started being attracted to me that I was once chasing.

Not only do I apply these principals in my businesses of over 26 years with super amazing results, I also apply them in my everyday life. One example of use of these very powerful principals outside of business would be coaching my U12 tournament baseball team. I teach these methods of alpha development to the team so that the players develop their own unique alpha personalities that has resulted in a very strong alpha team when playing the game of baseball and life! The person whose purpose is to render value is by definition someone with an abundant mind-set. From where I sit, powerful people serve (in the highest sense of the word) a greater number of people, and have learned to be comfortable in their skin.

It seems a bit redundant to say it’s a great post, but it is, and that’s because truly good and great people don’t need to keep others down, but to assist them toward greater possibilities.

thanks to your wisdom and direction, I’m very strong minded Pre-Alpha and VERY soon to be FULL ALPHA. I have total control of my life, and I can have whatever I want. As long as I have something to trade, that will increase others, I’ll automatically get rich.

I’m 100% sure my time is coming, the Law of Abundance has became a popular topic with me over the past few weeks. My journey is about to become amazing.

Thanks for the inspiration Mike, I’m sure this product is going to be MORE THAN AWESOME!

Posted by dd on 26 January 2010 @ 9pm

Thank you for the inspiration, I couldn’t agree more. I’ve come across a great prosperous mindset reading recently, Cetherine Ponders’ Dynamic Laws of Prosperity- turns your thinking upside down, in a good way.
And it’s true, the alpha/beta sits deep within your head, the choice was often made for you in your childhood through various experiences. The great thing about is that once you’re concious of the fact, you can make your own choice and the world will adapt!

Posted by Maggie Paw on 26 January 2010 @ 9pm

No doubt about it Mike….you have your finger on the pulse of what is needed right now.
A person can have everything else in place but if they don’t have the right mindset then lasting success is not going to come their way.

I have been a student of yours for about a year. Magnetic Sponsoring changed my life, like it has changed so many others.

For the most part this is spot on. My only point of difference is the “Right?” tacked onto a sentence. This can be used as a pro-active engagement tool, consciously intended to shake a reader or listener out of their cocoon.
It is also, interestingly, more of a female behaviour – perhaps because women are naturally more inclined to bind communities together for the safety of the whole tribe, as opposed to self-absorbed ego-centric communications.
Alpha is as much about connectedness to group as individual personality traits and behaviours, a point well illustrated here.

Posted by Denise on 26 January 2010 @ 9pm

90% Mental, 10% Execution. Truer words were never spoken. What many people miss is that the mental aspect of leadership and being an alpha REQUIRES that you not only think like one..but that you ACT like one. That is the execution piece. It is not only enrolling 100’s into your downline. It is presenting yourself to the world as a leader. It is taking the actions that leaders take in terms of work ethic, communication, responsibility and relationships.

Looking forward to the next part Mike.

Yes, this is the key in network marketing – “People do not join a business, they join YOU”. This is how I managed to create a network of thousands of people in several European countries.

Wow! A week ago, to up my game, I started reading 20 times a day a sheet of qualities a master networker has. 90% of the qualities I wrote on the list were straight from the Magnetic Sponsoring Alpha Networker descriptions.

Thanks for putting this part of Magnetic Sponsoring out there.

When I first read ‘Magnetic Sponsoring’ it was as if someone had opened the curtains to let the light in. You have always made the most perfect sense on this subject and ever since I have been on my journey towards becoming the ALPHA that I am. This is the reason why you can give two people the exact same opportunity and tools and one will excel and the other not. My inner Beta is a bit like a Roach that is dying to rise up again but I WILL NOT let it happen. Bring it on Mike!

Hey Mike – the first exposure I’d ever had to the name Mike Dillard was when I discovered a relatively thin, floppy book entitled “Magnetic Sponsoring”. I read the book through from cover to cover in one sitting. As soon as I finished it I opened it again to page one and read it again. I wanted to make sure I picked up on all of its ideas and concepts.

I first got the book roughly a year ago and all told I must’ve read it 5 or 6 times. It’s been a while since I’ve read the book so this post you’ve made was very impactful for me. Reading this post re-introduced me to all that I’d learned in MS – literally timeless lessons ALL entrepreneurs need to know about; not only those of us in NM.

And no, saying “timeless” is not pouring it on too thick. As you point out, the whole concept of being Alpha dates back to the caveman days.

Anyhow Mike, I’ve subsequently purchased MLMTF, BBR and BOAB and have gotten value from each far in excess of what I’d paid. You should also know that I enthusiastically open your emails whenever they land in my inbox. I get a ton of stuff in my inbox but always appreciate seeing yours.

Thanx again for the work you do and all that you’ve achieved is very well deserved. Anthow, I hope to meet you one day brutha….

Again, absolutely perfect timing. It’s almost as though you’re sitting right here talking to me direct; And that’s not because of any hidden ‘copy’ that there may be in your message. I’ve been on your email list for a long while and now truly understand the whole concept of giving value; Not just in marketing techniques but, in our inner world.

As ‘Bob Proctor’ said … “Feel the fear and walk throught it”

I look forward to hearing more…

I was never able to tell people that I don’t want them in my business. In fact I used to beg people to join me and promise I will put people under them. Now I am telling them right up front, if they cannot join at the top package to Max the Comp plan, I simply do not work with them. It is a good feeling to dictate who you want in your organization. Fantastic article Mike. I have spent a good majority of my life in the Army and learned what it takes to become a leader is simply deciding that you are one and acting as though you are, always have been, and always will be a confident leader who can accomplish anything.

Once you understand that and start to act that way, people gain confidence in you and themselves just by their association with you!

Thanks for the refresher course.

Powerful, A truly concise and absolutely powerful message!

Posted by Nick Winkey on 27 January 2010 @ 12am

Mike, I’m looking forward to helping you spread this message. This message is not just a great one, but very important.

In our society today, we are truly becoming wussified, especially men.

So it’s not only important for people to learn this for business success, it’s also important to learn because some of us need to become examples for others that need our leadership.

In other words, learning this will help you become a better husband/wife. It will help your kids because you become a better role model.

Your mindset will seep into others’ conciences and will help your prospects to strenghthen themselves to become more successful.

Not trying to write an whole other article here, but today this was the train of thought that filled my head, the entire day.

So when I got your email, I thought that this was cool because I’ve been kind of stumped these days, wandering how I was going to move next with my marketing.

Then I started thinking about value, and the Alpha mindset. This is where success all begins. Like you say 90% of it is mental.

When I first read this a loooong time ago, this is what let me know that you’re one of the guys that knows what he’s talking about.

It wasn’t a surprise to find out who your biggest influence was.

Okay, I’ll go ahead and leave some space for someone else on here. Again, looking forward to helping you spread this message.

I need to get rid of the fact I can’t do any thing and I don’t know how to become a leader. This comes from my mother whipping me very badly when I failed the first grade. I have or am trying to overcome this as it has caused me not to succeed in my life with greater things that i have always wanted to prove to myself that I CAN be successful. I have been successful in some things in my life. The beating put fear of failure in me and it is hard for me to overcome. I WANT TO BE A SUCCESS AT THIS TO PROVE THAT IF I CAN DO THIS ANYONE CAN AND TO PROVE IT TO MYSELF. SO I ASK FOR YOUR HELP. THANKS JANETTE

Hey Mike,

For someone who has travelled the journey sir, you tell it like it is, and you communicate to others from your source. The Alpha state is of course a choice, it is a progression of one’s thinking. And we all know that all things emulate from our thoughts. So whatever we do and wherever each of us may be on this journey of life, all personal development refines the thinking process, refinement gives rise to distinctions, and distinctions change our actions and our results. Now we appear to ourselves as beautiful on purpose individuals, and we know we are attractive to others because now we are absolutely attractive to ourselves. There is no more doubt there is only immeasurable faith in ourselves and who we are; and that my friends is where joy lies. This is what I expound and act upon each day, to be who I can be and I am grateful for this daily encounter.

Posted by claude shama on 27 January 2010 @ 12am

Great Mike! Being in network marketing absolutely requires you to become an alpha if you are to succeed. I truly ceased caring about what my friends and family think a long time ago. I know what I want, and I’m getting it. Just try to get in my way!

I have actually fired some distributors as well as customers when they frustrate me too much.

Ain’t it the truth! The best thing about Alphas is that anyone can choose to be one. The skills anyone needs can be learned. When you make the decision to serve others, giving freely without an expectation of return, people will be drawn to you naturally. Then your returns become real. Amazing, isn’t it?

Hi Mike
I think this post is one of your very best – mostly because it resonates with me. I have become a pre-alpha in my business line by default because I was prepared to put my hand up and take on responsibility. Reading this post, I can relate to now being someone who has these atributes and I can now see that me next logical step is to Alpha – before I was just wondering where it would all lead
Thanks heaps – you have cleared my vision for the future.

Mike, someone who’s not an aplpha cannot help but feel dumbstruck by this powerful analysis. I know one shouldn’t compare himself to others but you have raised the bar so high, it would be a pleasurable journey to try to rise to this level of intellect. I always enjoy reading your emails and feel enriched by the value you provide. Don’t worry the big bad Beta will be history sooner than you think.

It is so true about feeling like a poser but I have already made the decision to take responsbility for my own happiness and I have had great results that even money cannot give. I think for me that was the first step. Looking forward to your next update.

You have to follow before you can lead and make the necessary BOLD STEPS to reach the Alpha state….. Do you know what the word “MEEK” means?

Mmmm, very interesting and thought provoking. I can now identify that in some aspects of my life I am seen as alpha and in other areas I am more Beta. This depends on whether I am in my comfort zone or not. In comfort zone and instructing people equals Alpha, out of comfort zone equals Beta! So, the answer must be to increase my comfort zone to encompass all of my life, and join with all you full time and happy Alpha’s. Problem recognised, cure found, now its onwards and upwards!

Posted by Anthony on 27 January 2010 @ 1pm

Great post Mike. And, if it wasn’t for you I would’ve never really understood what it meant to be a successful leader.

In sports and social relationships, I’ve always lead by example rather than be a follower. I had leadership qualities ingrained in me from how I was raised, especially being the first born.

However, I didn’t understand this in the realm of network marketing. It didn’t even occur to me that it would apply here as well. That has changed thanks to you.

When I first started out in this industry I was no doubt a beta. Over the last few years I have advanced on to Pre-Alpha and I’m on the cusp of becoming an Alpha Networker.

To get me where I wanted to be, I worked on becoming more valuable, boosting my level of confidence, my definiteness for succeeding and raising my belief that I can make a difference in people’s lives.

Mike, you freaking rock and I hope some day to do business with you and share a drink or two celebrating life.

Your friend,

Jerome Ratliff

I have always wondered why leaders “Alphas”do what they do. Am going to work toward becoming the Alpha am suppossed to be.

Every info from you is of very high value but for me this is the greatest. I must become the “Alpha” to succeed in this business. Thanks a million.

This is all bit scary. Looks a bit like herd mentality. I guess the ultimate alphas were nazis few decades ago. Those guys didn’t look the other way…

YEP!
God set these things before us:
Life or Death,
Blessing or Curse
Prosperitiy or Poverty
and it goes on….
He says YOU CHOOSE…LIFE!

So – That’s right it’s going to happen
anyway one or the other
So I’d Say…CHOOSE to Love God
and also to be Kind, Positive, Generous,
to be a Cheerful Servant, to Bless others,
to be Healthy, To Pray, To To Be Joyful,
To be Healed and…Thrive!
(It’s all Attraction – One Way or the Other)

Think like an Alpha and ACT like one. Be a student always. Your relationships, income, happiness, self worth, etc. everything will benefit. Every teacher was once a student.

The Alpha-you love and respect yourself. Your confident and you engage other people in their own leadership.

Awesome clarity Mike as usual.

Hi Mike:

A GREAT BIG THANK YOU! The timing is impeccable. Between the psychology of winning and this article I’ve received so much value, to put to action. Your a blessing.

Dead on the Money Mike! Working my way up through management in companies through the 80’s & 90’s taught me quickly to throw Mr. “Beta” under the bus to survive. You’ve articulated this concept very well as you are gifted with the ability to convey important concepts such as this in order to help others. You are truely an “Alpha”.
Best wishes,
Jim

Thank you for the recent Alpha / Beta post. I have spent many years in Sales and Marketing and am on the verge of getting into Network marketing. From what you have sent me so far, I know that I will be following your program as soon as I have identified a suitable product or service. Can you offer any help in this direction? Many thanks again – Nigel A Etheridge (United Kingdom)

PS. I thought I’d killed the Beta in me many years ago, now I’m not so sure!!

Wow, this information was shared brilliantly. Thanks Mike. This should be printed and posted on everyone’s wall. Until, of course, you are an Alpha yourself and can write what it means to be an Alpha in your own words! Thanks.

Hi Mike,

Thanks for this very inspiring rendition of being an ALPHA!

“Values provide perspective in the best of times and the worst.” ~Charles Garfield

“Our value is the SUM of our VALUES.” ~Joe Batten

I now realize that I must slay the inner BETA MONSTER on my BRIDGE, and move on to the EXPRESSWAY of SUCCESS, where ALPHA reigns supreme! THE TIME IS RIGHT!

With sincere gratitude,

That is so awesome! I’ve always wondered about some people in my downline. As you explained some of people’s traits and character in Beta, I’ve been able to identify certain types of people that exhibit characteristics in the group as explained in your article. Now, I know how to proceed!

Thanks so much! You lighten our load!

I bought magnetic sponsoring over a year ago and have not even opened it…thinking that I can do this myself….ha what a joke I am….time to shed some skin and maybe a none responsive wife (non believer in my vision) and get to the business at hand. Eye contact still a problem but I do lead by example… but still have low self esteem with most thing except what I know best…and it is not network marketing. I’m told I get too detailed and I loose because of it. Well time to read M.S.
Thanks for the pep talk

This is just the tonic I needed. Having recently purchased magnetic sponsering, mlm traffic formula and CCPro I know I am a leader and that I will become incredibly successful. Still new to the game and definitely starting to feel the criticism from others but I will follow this through and do this not just for myself and my loved ones but as you said so I can become yet more valuable to the society we live in and to help and inspire others that follow after me. Keep up the good work it is very much appreciated. Mark

That is exactly the information that fired me up when I read your magnetic sponsoring book at the end of 07.
Now this is still the 1st book I use to qualify folks.I strongly suggest for all my leads( which I’m finally producing for myself after much effort) to BUY this book.
I don’t want to work with you unless you at least buy and read this book. I’ve had folks just get off my list at times because I suggest this.
Too bad for them not plugging in to Mike and his group’s wisdom.I don’t want those folks in my group.
I believe this is a great screening tool. It does frighten some folks to become a leader. My young friend and partner who is very smart behind the scenes as an implementer and runs our PPC campaign does not want to lead or deal with folks ..so I do that side of it.
Now this works for us, but most folks don’t have a person like my partner and I’m fortunate to have him or my blogs and other marketing would not be where they are.
As far as what my family and friends think about what I do…I took care of that issue when I started this whole journey in 1992 when I became involved in the “old school” Amway business.
That is a whole interesting story that at that time surprised me. I was ignorance on fire before I fixed myself. Everyone had advise about Network Marketing but none of them had ever done it.
The whole situation got out of hand. My wife who is still my wife wanted nothing to do with this. She had already spoken to the betas and they all knew about this…Right!!!
I never really cared what folks thought about me.It’s how I’m wired I guess.
Long story short after 6 months on my own with no support from my wife I ended up on stage and now making a nice extra check monthly.
Here is my lesson though…my wife now liked the Amway business only because I did not listen to the betas. That happened to be everyone I new it seemed so I built with strangers and found good folks.
My wife joined me for a number of years and we did quite well in that “old school” model.
Learning this “new school” networking model has been tougher for me than “old school.” I found Dillard’s stuff when I was 51 yeas old and I’m a technophobe.
So what though. I did not argue with Mike’s MS book because he had the fruit on the tree, so time for a new journey that I am still in and winning.

Awesome! This was so on time for me. I was actually doing research on the alpha-type personality about a week and a half before you sent out your initial email about this type of mentality. You did an excellent job explaining it, making it simple enough for a fourth grader to understand. Thanks again and keep’em coming!

Hi Mike,

A great post as usual … not a lot I can add so I hope a little peasant wisdom will suffice:

Cherokee Wisdom

An old Cherokee was teaching his grandson about life. ‘A
fight is going on inside me’, he said to the boy. ‘It is a terrible fight, and it is between two wolves.

One is evil – he is anger, envy, sorrow, regret, greed, arrogance, self-pity, guilt, resentment, inferiority, lies, false pride, superiority, and ego.

The other is good – he is joy, peace, love, hope, serenity, humility, kindness, benevolence, empathy, generosity, truth, compassion, and faith’.

‘The same fight is going on inside you, and inside every other person, too.’

The grandson thought about it for a minute and then asked his grandfather, ‘ Which wolf will win?’.

The old Cherokee simply replied,

‘The one you feed.’

Hi Mike, I here what your saying, I know what you went thru from becoming a Beta person to an Alpha person because that’s what I’m doing now. I have traits from both of these and am working on the Alpha one trying to work out of the Beta box.I wish I could afford the training but I’ll get there, hang in there with me.

Mike: Excellent post, it reminds me of to two beings that live within us all. Our positive self, and our negative self. We were born with our positive self dominating our every day actions, this would be our subconscious, it had total power, but as life goes on, our negative self gains power due to outer influence. Our mission in life is to learn how to gain power over the conscious self, by feeding the subconscious with the alpha info you are talking about. Thank you for the tools to help feed the subconscious. Drew.

Thanks alot for the article, very well put!!
I guess I’m in the pre-alpha stage, I am training and coaching my subscribers for the first time ever and it feels awkward but I know the stuff, so why not share it. People seem to learn so much more on the internet and think because they haven’t made a million dollars yet that they don’t have the right to share what they’ve learned with others. I believe that by sharing what you know puts you in a position to practice what you preach and you will make more money!!
